The boards of Aviva and RAC announce today the terms of a £1.1bn recommended cash and share offer for RAC plc, for approximately £1.1 billion.
The board of Aviva believes that the acquisition will accelerate the growth and profitability of Aviva’s Norwich Union Insurance, strengthening its position as the UK’s biggest general insurer (with 15 million policyholders) and creating a powerful new combination in insurance and motoring services.

Auto Trader plans to compete with Britain’s two vehicle history databases with its own brand, reports Motor Trade, quoting James Bromley, managing director of parent company Trade Media Group.
Bromley told the paper a senior management team was in place, and discussions with data providers were at an advanced stage. Auto Trader currently refers car buyers to AA Car Data.
